Activities in the Exclusion Zone ensure the development of social infrastructure of the surrounding regions
State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management, State Enterprise «NNEGC «Energoatom» and Kyiv Regional State Administration signed an agreement on the financing of social facilities during the construction of the Centralized Storage Facility for Spent Nuclear Fuel (CSFSNF) for Ukrainian NPPs. In accordance with the terms of the contract, 10% of the estimated cost of the storage facility should be directed at the construction and repair of socially important facilities in the Polissia and Ivankiv districts and the city of Slavutych.
«Development of the adjacent regions of the Exclusion Zone is important for the Agency, because most of our employees live there. We actively help them and their families to have decent living conditions, childcare, health care and improved transport infrastructure. And contracts, similar to those signed today, guarantee us the financing of such works», – Vitalii Petruk, Head of SAUEZM, emphasizes.
According to him, improving the infrastructure of cities around the Exclusion Zone will promote their revival and development. It is important for the agency to provide professionals living here with workplaces and decent living conditions to slow down the outflow of people from these regions.
The funds specified in the contract will be directed at repair and construction of the objects determined by the Kyiv Regional State Administration in the corresponding List. Among them there are general schools, health complexes, a stadium, a house of culture, a library, roads, bridges and other important objects.
