In Chornobyl, consumption of street electricity will be reduced by 10 times due to the installation of energy-saving lamps
250 energy-saving lamps were installed on the central streets of Chornobyl. As a result of the introduction of energy-saving, modern sources of lighting, electricity consumption will be reduced by 10 times, and electricity consumption per year will be 101.25 thousand kWh or 258.8 thousand UAH.
«According to the Strategy on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving, enterprises in the Exclusion Zone begin to use resources more economically. In recent years, the Chornobyl boiler house has already abandoned the use of natural gas for heating the water, and the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant switched to using electricity instead of gas for heating industrial objects. Today the Chornobyl Special Combine is on the road to energy efficiency», – Vitalii Petruk, Head of SAUEZM, said.
According to Serhii Kostiuk, Director of the State Specialized Enterprise «Chornobyl Special Combine», providing high-quality street lighting was a problem in Chornobyl for a long time, especially in the autumn-winter period. For the main staff of the work shift, the working day begins at 8 am, and ends at 19 pm. But for the employees of the catering service, the working day begins at 4 am to feed workers in the morning before the working shift, and ends at 22:00. Also, employees of communal and road services, communications and energy come much earlier to work. Now they are able to get in their workplaces comfortably and securely.
Today, the company continues to introduce modern energy-saving technologies at production facilities and recreation places for work shift personnel.
