Head of SAUEZM Vitalii Petruk and the heads of dedicated organizations discussed with the projects coordinator in the Eastern Europe of the United States Forest Service the idea of creating an interdepartmental Joint Operations Center in the Exclusion zone. The United States National Interdepartmental Center for Fire Prevention and Safe firefighting can be a model for the Center.

«The Agency fruitfully cooperates with the US Forest Service for many years. Ukrainian and American experts are successfully sharing experiences and technologies of forest firefighting, methods of organizing the informing process in emergencies. The technical base of Chornobyl foresters, who are the first ones to respond to the fire, was also partially updated. Creation of a Joint Operations Center in close cooperation with international experts is very important for us, since it will allow taking into account the best practices in the field of firefighting», - emphasizes the Head of the SAUEZM Vitalii Petruk.

The interdepartmental Joint Operations Center will allow to optimize the exchange of up-to-date information between the structures involved in the firefighting and other emergencies in the Exclusion zone territory. This, in turn, will allow you to take effective managerial decisions faster and, accordingly, respond more quickly to emergencies make efficient use of human and material resources.

Also, during the visit, the Forest Service representatives inspected firefighting equipment, which was purchased last year for Chornobyl foresters at the expense of the Government of Ukraine. As the SAUEZM management notes, in 20 years it was the first renovation of the machinery park in the Exclusion zone that was financed from the budget of Ukraine.
