The Scientific and Technical Council of SAUEZM reported on the state of implementation of planned works for 2018 and approved the priorities for research works for 2019
During a regular meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council (STC) of the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion zone management, which was held under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Chairman Oleg Nashvit. Secretary of the Council, head of the department on state policy in the field of radioactive waste management on Chornobyl NPP Decommissioning and Radioactive Waste Management Oleksandr Kravchenko informed the members of the council about the state of accomplished works, which were determined by the thematic plan for 2018.
Further, a report on the implementation of research work on an additional radiation survey of a part of the Exclusion zone territory was heard in order to clarify the boundaries of the future territory of special industrial use (TSIU), which was performed by SE «Ecocenter».
In addition, proposals for research and development works for inclusion in the thematic plan of SAUEZM for 2019 were considered at the meeting. In particular, the experts suggested to include the following scientific and technical works:
- development of instructional guidelines on the dosage registration of settlements in the zone of unconditional (mandatory) resettlement;
- development of an inspection program of places with residual radioactive materials in the «Veselivsky deposit» career;
- an additional radiation survey of a part of the Exclusion zone territory in order to clarify the boundaries of the future territory of special industrial use.
Following the results of the meeting, it was decided to recommend the SAUEZM to include these works to the field thematic plan for 2019.
